June 22-28, 2008 are the dates for the 7 day Region 9 contest at Parowan airport in southwest Utah. Saturday June 21st is a practice day. Site of national and regional contests since 2004, this site is a favorite with pilots and crews who have flown and vacationed there. Lodging, dining and other amenities are plentiful in Parowan and at a major ski resort in the mountains five miles to the east. Cedar city lies 20 interstate miles away.  

Four classes (Standard, 15M, 18M and Sports) will be offered. Sports will have reverse seeding for up to five pilots.  

This will be a no-water ballast contest. 

ELT’s are recommended but not required.

No gliders over a 20 Meter wingspan will be allowed.

Due to airfield limitations there will be a limit of 50 gliders. Contest fee is $400 plus $25 dollar local airport surcharge, and $55 tow fees  A $100 deposit with completed application packet is required by May 15, 2008 to hold your place on the list, with the remainder due at registration upon arrival.  This contest fee does not include relights, practice day tows or aero retrieves.

Nightly dinners, at reasonable costs, will be provided by the BBQ man among others. An awards dinner is planned. Wireless with be provided, so the OLC will be available, to post your flights.
